Incredible performance 

The Q8 presentation switcher offers incredible real-time 4K video processing performance. It has a maximum of 72x 4K input ports and 48x 4K output ports and supports up to 48x 4K simultaneous inputs and 16x 4K simultaneous outputs. A maximum of 32x 4K mixing layers (true seamless transitions) in switcher mode or 64x 4K single layers in PGM-only mode are supported. In addition, various connectors (DP 1.2 + HDMI 2.0 + 12G-SDI) are available on both input and output cards, and the Q8 has 8K video processing capacity. This allows you to create and manage all live events easily and cost-effectively. Thanks to the VPU-based architecture, twice as many layers can be added on an output card and you never have to worry about insufficient layers. 

Longer transmission distance, lower cost 

In addition to the ability to output content via the 4K ports, the Q8 presentation switcher is also capable of transmitting signals via NovaStar’s LED controllers over a long distance (up to 10 km with single-mode fiber optic cable) without fiber optic converters. This method not only ensures signal stability but also reduces transmission costs, making it the perfect choice for long-distance signal transmission. 

Various control options

The Q8 is very user-friendly and supports flexible control options: versatile event controller U5/US Pro, brand new event management software PixelFlow and the third-party control system Stream Deck. You can use the controls to realize various operations, such as saving presets, blackout, freeze and switching from PVW to PGM. Even better, multiple switchers can be controlled simultaneously from a single event controller or PC with PixelFlow if they are on the same LAN and working on the same project. This makes on-site control and operation a breeze. 

Easy-to-use PixelFlow

The Q8 works with the new PixelFlow software, which has been fully upgraded to provide a graphical user interface, interaction and user-friendly design. The new architecture enables the software to work stably around the clock. The visualized user interface is adaptive and allows different screens of event controllers and computers to be displayed. In addition, the software allows you to change the skin settings of the event controller buttons with a click, providing a great look and feel. In addition, the encoders and faders of the event controller control the software parameters, which makes operation easier. With clearly delineated function areas, hovering and menus that keep all necessary functions in view, the software guides the user from the beginning to the end of each event with as little complex operation as possible. All-round exceptional reliability The Q8 presentation switcher supports full link backup, from import source backups to device and power failure backups, to protect your live events. As soon as the input source becomes unstable or disappears, it automatically switches to the backup source. If the primary source fails, the backup device source takes over immediately to ensure uninterrupted uptime. Switching between the primary and backup source or device occurs without interruption, making the solution highly reliable and worry-free.
