Data transmission via fiber optics offers several advantages that make it the number one product in this category. First, it impresses with its speed – because instead of electrons, photons are used, which transmit your data at the speed of light. In addition, your signal is transmitted over long cable distances without any loss. The material and method of transmission ensure that the data is transferred without any loss of quality or quantity due to external interference. Other methods, by contrast, can be affected by electromagnetic influences or temperature fluctuations.

Startup is incredibly easy – the signal comes from the controller via four fiber optic inputs and is distributed to the 16 Ethernet ports connected to the end devices. Of the four optical inputs, two are primary and two are redundant. The 16 RJ45 ports can be freely configured as either primary or backup connections. For power supply, two options are available for added flexibility and, most importantly, safety: one standard cold device connector (10 amps) and one blue PowerCon input. For control, the distributor can be connected via an additional RJ45 port or via USB 2.0 (Type B). A convenient display on the front panel shows the status of each connection at a glance.
